Former Story of My Life
I wrote this during a visit to my home town, and my time spent there.

Seething and crawling
night surrounding
I'm a lone, and wet
it's cold outside

Confused and lonely
nowhere left to go
heart pounding, music thrashing
people pass me by

Wind raping, thunder strikes
it's raining hard
my soul is tarnished, my wings broken
I'm utterly alone

Morning comes, stars fading
days go by, weeks disperse, months disappear
every day’s the same
every day's empty and silent

Dreaming and wishing
praying, hoping, pleading
tears fall, sobs choke
nothing matters

A single rose, a drifting cloud
home is just down the road
Memories lost, chaos erupts
and no way to escape

Nowhere near anywhere
somewhere, some place
some time with someone
long ago

Everything looks the same
nothing sounds right
everything tastes of ash
nothing feels familiar

Wandering, stumbling
path finding seems pointless
losing ground, a failing mind
what was my name

Once again
once upon a time
once you loved
once you bled

No peace
no looking back
no regrets
no remorse

Life contradicts
people ridicule
friends betray
lovers lie

Through a child's eyes
through teen love
through the fire
through the fear

Keep on fighting
keep on loving
never stop trying
never stop believing

At the end of the road
at the end of the day
after all the laughs
after all the tears

Things will change
You're never alone
Someone does love you
The story of contradicting life goes on
