Written for the 55 word story contest, inspired by an earlier work of mine

Wedding Night


He carried her over the threshold, laying her down on the queen size bed. She looked so beautiful in her wedding gown; simple silk with just a hint of lace and crystals. He lifted her veil and kissed her tenderly.

“Till death do us part,” he whispered, as a single fly landed in her hair.
