When you’re alone and no one cares,
When you are down in deep despair
When lonely nights seem cold and bare
And morning sun seems not to care
Just say my name or whisper a prayer
Then think of me and I’ll be there.

Dim the lights, turn off the sounds
Skip the shows, wipe off that frown
Play the music, bring out the cards
Let’s sit, talk, and play some hearts

We’ve been through this throughout the years
Don’t you hold back, let go the tears.
What’s on your mind, I’d like to hear
Don’t be afraid, for I am here.

Remember this, my ode to you
When you are down, when you are blue-
Just call my name and I’ll be there
My friend forever, because I care.
