Daddy Why Did You Leave Us

"Daddy why are we in court today?
Please, I don't want to go away.
Mommy left us when she died -
Keep us with you Daddy, I cried.

My brothers promise to be good.
Sister and I will do what we should.
"Please, don't leave us here alone-
We don't want any other home."

Why did daddy walk out the door?
Doesn't he love us any more?
Mommy went to the angels in the sky-
Now Daddy's gone and it makes me cry.

On the floor I scream and whine;
"Daddy, how can you be so unkind?
We love you, Daddy with all our hearts-
Now our family has been torn apart!

Daddy" I just want to give up and die.
I want to go to be at Mommy's side.
My heart died as you went out the door-
Now I'll never be able to love anymore.

" And, Daddy, I just want to say;
Sometimes I hate you for your selfish way"
Still years later my tears still flow-
Because you let our family go.

Note:
When I think of my father it is with sadness. He is deceased now, and as a kid I acted like a kid, yelling and screaming and saying I hate you Daddy.. The day in court was the only time I felt like I hated my Dad, mostly I have loving memories of my Daddy. He did the best he could.
