WILD WIND
I pick up my guitar and some of the strings are broken I search for words and it seems they’ve all been spoken. I’d like to do a love song but no new words can I find So I try for a truck driving one – nothing comes to mind. Chorus The wild wind blows all my songs away I try to hold them but they won’t stay This is a mountain that is way too tall I can’t come up with any lyrics at all. I think of old fast cars and all the races that I’ve had Then I try to describe them but everything comes out bad. I could sing a country song where whiskey is the drink But once more I draw a blank, again I can not think. Chorus The wild wind blows all my songs away I try to hold them but they won’t stay This is a mountain that is way too tall I can’t come up with any lyrics at all. Looking at the fleecy clouds up there in a clear blue sky Causes me to wonder why it’s so calm up there on high. It’s blowing like a hurricane on this old desk of mine Not allowing me to write a single country music line. Chorus The wild wind blows all my songs away I try to hold them but they won’t stay This is a mountain that is way too tall I can’t come up with any lyrics at all. 6/14/07 Monty
