SURRENDER TO THE SILENCE
When troubled in the heart you are, Your peace of mind is gone; When you feel that in an abyss, Suddenly you are thrown; When all your cries meet simply a Never ending silence; When none is bothered about you, Even as a pretence; When music of the olden days Is now to you a noise; And in the worldly drama you Find hard to keep your poise; Then what you need is to retreat In silence of the mind And listen effortlessly to The voices you there find. Of all the voices craving for Your inward attention, A voice is present all the time And needs special mention. Just listen and surrender to That one voice of silence. For truly it is His own voice, The voice of your conscience. • Written in abcb 8-6-8-6 format * Originally written as entry no. 492561 in the book FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL "FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL" M C Gupta 5 March 2007
