I know the secret that sits in your soul.
The one that you conveniently forget.
I know that you fear the loss of control.

I often sit by you just to console,
And, yet, you never know just why you fret.
I know the secret that sits in your soul.

This secret that I hold makes me a mole.
I wish you knew, and that you could admit.
I know that you fear the loss of control.

Your past, it shows, will always take its toll.
Instead of help I just aid and abet.
I know the secret that sits in your soul.

Wishing, my dear, that I could make you whole
And realize there is no longer a threat.
I know that you fear the loss of control.

I don't wish to remind you so I dole
out comfort and I swallow the regret.
I know the secret that sits in your soul.
I know that you fear the loss of control.
