Oh War and Peace
War on Terror but Hope of Peace!

I sit in awe as the news gripped my mind
The words I was hearing, the most horrific kind.
The towers have fallen and plummeted to the ground
There is nothing else to do but take Bin Laden down.

I wondered who he was for his name rang a bell
So I ran to my computer like a bat out of hell.
With the speed of a snail I keyed in his name
Now what would happen, was this all a silly game?

Rememberance of another time came fast to my mind
And more news than keyed for was all online.
One certain statement matched with my thought
Of a day at Pearl Harbor, and was tokenly bought.

My mind it was swirling, now what should we do,
Is it possible to comeback to the things we once knew?
Then news from the White House, we're under attack
There is nothing else to wait for, we must fight back!

I knelt down in prayer, what else could I do
My pervading thought was family and you.
Dear God! please help. What's the cause of this thing,
What offense committed that let terrorists reign?

I wiped my cheeks from this river of pain,
These tears would'nt stop, and everyone else the same.
Our eyes were glued to this monitoring screen
Which brought in more horror, so that many did scream!

Those falling from heights and meeting their doom
There was death all around us, as the smoke filled our room.
Then a stiffling surrender, for my knowing, it knows
Who can fight terror, for terror grows!

Now many are bound by need and deed,
And a patriotic symbol is heralded with speed.
But wait, who's that dying on yon distant shore?
Oh God! a Child, please God, No more!

War, I hate it! yet so many fought.
Who are the winners, and what is the cost?
Life is more precious than silver and gold!
And certainly more precious than the oil in the holes.

Will someone ponder on this word out of time
Peace is a treasure, If so inclined.
A word so ancient yet peacefully said
Peace is what binds the living and dead.
