change you change me change the world be like an artist who makes a misstake smudging the edge of precision and covers it with a simple // stroke // put a speck where there is none make a name for yourself extend a line as far as possible s --- t --- r --- e -- t --- c --- h begin on blank canvas end with an explosion green circles! blue triangles! red squares! that seem meaningless merely jumbles of shapes &&& colors but it's you there on that paper and sometimes all it takes is one little thing to change you change me change the world Author's note - this poem was written at NIU's Creative Writing Camp. I was experimenting with concrete poetry, which use unusual formatting to help enhance a poem's meaning. It only made sense to include all these visuals in this poem because I was relating art to life. All misspellings, grammatical errors, and lack of punctuation are intentional. Hope you liked reading something a little different! Please, let me know what you think of this style!
