Written for the Daily Flash Fiction Challenge.
Prompt: include the line "We're lost, aren't we?"

              "We're lost, aren't we?"

"No, of course not; we're following clear instructions."

"It sure looks like we're lost."

"Looks can be deceiving.  Grandmother said that all we had to do to get to her house was to go over the river and through the woods.  Wait and see; we'll be there in no time."

"You don't even know if we're going in the right direction!  There are at least three major rivers around here, and more forests than your hand has fingers!  We could be anywhere!"

"Grandmother said that it's very easy to get there."

"Yeah, if you know where you're going!"

         "We do! It's-"

"Over the river and through the woods, I know."

"Good, then let's keep walking.  We should be there soon."

         "Jessie?"

         "Yes?"

"Does Grandmother live in a city?"

         "No, why?"

"Because I can see one through the trees up there."

"Holy smokes; you're right!  She never mentioned being anywhere near a town."

         "Does this mean we're lost?"

"I guess so.  Let's go try to find a map.  'Over the river and through the woods' doesn't seem to be working so well."
