a poem about where things are

Where are the flowers?
that grew by the wall
they were once roses
blooming in the Fall

Where are the butterflies?
with gossamer wings
multi-colored canvas
that came in the Spring

Where are the song birds?
whose melody would enter
all the frozen hearts
through the coldest Winter

Where are the rabbits?
wake from their slumber
that bring about
the lazy days of Summer
