Going Nowhere

Long was the road, yet I took your hand.
Our mind only money, comfort was our goal.
We lived as though we loved one another; we never saw our love grow.
Still we never realized we were going nowhere.

The years pass us on as we watch our youth dwindle away.
We roam the earth with our eyes
A life of pleasure that might await.
It is far too much trouble to start over in these late days.
We still don’t see we are going nowhere.

Dissension is all that our world is about.
My mind is only full of how I can cause you grief and doubt.
The children sit worried,
Planning secret lives far away.
Sadly, we never will say we are going nowhere.
