Healing Words

I lay words open here
And write my way out of grief
I leave you forever on paper
Breathing a sigh of relief

Each letter, phrase, and word
Spills out in poetic verse,
Each moment, thought, and hurt
Can finally be dispersed

These are healing words
Although the may cry out
Peaceful and serene words
Even if they seem to shout

This is my purging of pain
And not the building of sorrow
Through this my strength I regain
Stepping into the light of tomorrow
