The Box

A girl filled with the sadness of living
Puts her woes in a box
Puts her pain in a jar
In the box
She puts her heart and soul there
She put there the darkness found in her life
The sounds of her screams
For Daddy to stop
A deed never forgotten
The tears of her cries
The firmness of life
In the box she put
Things that happened in her past
What she wanted her life to mean
She put it there
Those she hated, those she despised
She put them there too
Ten plus three equals thirteen
So she puts thirteen there too
So many spankings for things left undone
Were stuck in the box
Her parents are placed there
With all their lies
Next to the dust of what once
Was her life
The box is not full
It never will be
For the girls woes and sorrows
Continue to be.
