International Rogue and Spy Evening curls and settles like a contented cat, one eye open, observing the closing of day. Now, as darkness approaches, and purring begins, I change from the wardrobe of mild mannered clerk into that of international rogue and spy. Armani, under my scuba diver's dry suit to attend a soiree on the Riviera accessible only by private mini-sub. I emerge unwrinkled and dashing as ever, seamlessly merging with the aristocracy. Beautiful women are drawn irresistibly to me like flies to honey or dogs to a bone. We briefly thrust and parry with innuendo and insults until I am led to the bedroom. Champagne, chilled, but not the ardor of my lover. Silhoetted in the soft, silvery moonlight, she drops the straps of her gown which pools at her feet, Like a Rodin statue glowing with perfection. Reluctantly, I succumb to her desires while discreetly searching her diamond-studded purse. As I had suspected, her plan was to kill me. I switch the poisoned glass she places in my hand and await the unfolding of her evil scheme. Her expression of triumph switches to horror as she realizes that her plot has backfired. She is but a minor expendable player in this much greater international intrigue. Clues from her purse will lead me to the mastermind. In a stolen Saab my adventure continues into the flickering of promising daybreak.
