Time Will Tell
For lovers of any age.

What would I do if you said you loved me too.
I’d say are you sure? Is it really true?
You used to say for now just a friend.
Time will tell I said again and again.
You used to ask if I could wait.
It’s not the time to tempt our fate.
I’ve waited what seems like years and years.
I tried to hide my many fears.
When or if you’d truly be free
to spend your life with only me.
My feelings you say are in my eyes
My silent voice will not tell lies.
So I sit and ponder what life is to me.
Shall I wait for the words or just let you be.
I will close my eyes so you no longer see
the pain I feel when it’s only me.
I’m letting go to set myself free.
I’ll take my love and let you be.
Time has dried my tears….
