I DON'T KNOW
Walking with experience.

I don’t know where I’m going, only that it’s meant to be.
What I once believed in, I know now is history.
Chains have been broken; I was thrust into a world of lies,
until the truth was revealed right before my eyes.

The path to freedom didn’t come easily, and doubts filled my mind
as I strove to capture rainbow dreams that were better off left behind.
I won’t say I’m unhappy, only wiser in a lot of ways.
I no longer feel as compassionate or trusting these days.

I don’t know where I’m headed, but it can’t be as bad
as the loss of hopes and dreams that I once had.
I won’t settle for less than what I know is best for me.
I’ll chalk it up to experience, my one desire to be free.
