THE PERFECT MOON

The perfect moon
Was huge above the sea
Hanging like a golden orb
In a sky of velvet black

Standing on the shore
A path of light opened up
Across the ocean vast
Reaching to the moon

The pathway led
To a land unkown
It invited me to to step
Onto that glittering Way

But when I would
Walk upon that golden path
It shattered to a million pieces
I was stranded on the stony shore of mediocrity
