The Monchielle poem contains four stanzas
Each stanza has five lines. Every line has six syllables Every first line is repeated and comes back as the first line of all the other stanzas. Line three and five rhyme in every stanza. The rhyme scheme: Abcdc Aefgf Ahiji Aklml A Valley of Dreams In my valley of dreams There is verdant green life Beneath azure blue skies With peace everlasting Found in love’s boundless ties In my valley of dreams I am free of the stress Infidelity brings Knowing such a freedom Lifts my heart as it sings In my valley of dreams There is children’s laughter Healthy, happy and whole A mother’s fondest dream That abounds from her soul In my valley of dreams I’m lacking for nothing I have comfort and home I know true happiness No more reasons to roam
