A Longing
A Longing reached out to me As I stared into the depths of Hell It’s desire was all I could see It’s thirst was all I could feel I stepped back as the Longing reached for me I stepped forward when it drew it’s hand back Oh, the smell of what death would be The taste has forced me to kneel As the Longing reached for me I looked deep into it’s eyes Seeing what it wanted to be Knowing what I had to do The Longing smiled as the reaching got closer to me I felt a freedom like I had never known Released, I now can see I am the Longing reaching out for you.
