Early Morning Sun
a poem I wrote for a contest.

Sound erupts the silence
as my eyes begin to widen
my heart beats ever faster now

laying in this bed
in a dark and cold way
but I can feel his love some how

the warmth from his touch
the warmth from the sun
as rays begin to peak from the curtain

I feel calmer than before
safe from all harm
and now I am quite certain

Early Morning Sun
and him right beside me
could a moment be any better than this?

I look out the window
to see the sun rising higher
as you hug me with a kiss

I’m in heaven
I must be
because how does this exist?
