FROM LIFE ALL THAT’S NICE IS GONE: a ghazal
From life all that’s nice is gone. From mountains the ice is gone. Thanks to doctors’ prescription, From my food all spice is gone. I can’t afford a new car, Upward now the price is gone. Let’s not abandon the game Even if the dice is gone. Now that I am an old man, Khalish all my vice is gone. • Written in 7-7 format • For details about ghazal, please view "WHAT IS A GHAZAL AND HOW TO WRITE IT?" • Written for The Weekly Poet's Challenge, "Invalid Item" M C Gupta ‘Khalish’ 22 July 2007
