The fickle wind finds me. Again
How long have I huddled Behind these walls of pain Merry miserable to go simply Through lives as sunny rain? So I start into the whirlpool Long ago and far future combine And casts up a card. The Fool of heart or is it mind That should this fortress rule? Harmonized howls from without And within unsettle my soul Casting certainty into doubt As the wind plays its tricks, As the whirling visions mount No safe haven exists anymore To go without and the wind fail to catch Or stay inside as visions outpour To drive the sins uncommitted Into a reality of forever more Cracks and crevices mar the wall In premature triumph cries the wind Game revealed I answer the call Reaching into the seer pool Without fear I let myself fall New baptized in my return With whirlpool gone and wind silenced The walls reforged from fire burn Nothing remains but solitude That which so easily is earned.
