As a child I was brought up in Blackpool
Living so close to the beach and Licking my stick of rock with gusto The family would stroll on the sand How wonderful were all the flavours Every one tasted the best until Weighed against the newest and brightest And added to my sugar, sticky vest Yellow pineapple, pink berries, Thick purple currents, green mint How many candy-sweet varieties Reduced from a stick to flint? Orange ones were made to be favourites United in colour and taste, but I still Got confused by the words 'Blackpool Rock'; How did they get them all the way through?
