blue skies and sunshine
A poem about how the world looks that little bit brighter when you've fallen in love.

glazed eyes at noon
a far away smile in rush hour
undeniable dense throughout
blue skies and sunshine dominate

sick with joy everytime I catch your eye
we're a perfect match, you and I
just thinking of you tears my stomach apart
a missed call damn near stops this heart

my first thought in the morning
and the very last late at night
butterflies gently stroking the breeze
blue skies and sunshine are on my mind

I smile as the last train disappears from sight
sing, when summer rain clouds the light
I feel pretty with a pimple on my nose
inexplicably free, when you hold me close

tiny feet pushing deep within
reacting to the warmth of your skin
the legacy of love, kept warm and safe
blue skies and sunshine brighten my days
