Books, lay in piles near my bed Making a headboard of words Stacks of undiscovered worlds They wait for darkest night to fall Dreams, penned by poets Expressed in setting and style Dance and skip across the pages Unimagined realms of wonder Books, each one a monument Tribute to man's eternal search A quest for beauty, inner truth Found between the musty covers Dreams, brought to bloody life Birthed by sharp pen and virgin paper Nurtured into subsistence New life for the taking
