A Little Mermaid
Rated: E | Poetry | Arts | #1303098
A poem dedicated to my friend Kamen....
A Little Mermaid

All was silent upon the sea
When a little mermaid appeared to me

Below the bowsprit swimming there
With seaweed glistening in her hair

The sunlight shimmered on her scales
Her voice a thousand tinkling bells

And o'er the railings I did leap
To plunge into murky waters deep

She held me close amidst the brine
And pressed her salty lips to mine

But brackish water filled my lungs
I tasted a thousand dead sailors' tongues

We disappeared beneath a roaring wave
Her to feast and I to a watery grave
