WHEN FRIENDS TURN INTO FOES: a sonnet
When friends turn into foes and all is dark, When evil is all that raises its head; When night is black without a glow or spark, When one feels, more than alive, one is dead; When silence screams louder than any voice, When loneliness is the one companion; When all is gone and life is without choice, When heart is scarred with many a lesion; It’s then that one knows one cannot afford To lean away from the path He has shown. And, when one does surrender to the Lord, By His kind touch all of the woes are gone. Let’s remember: To him who in Him lives, He always His kind hope and His grace gives. • Written for SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET CONTEST, "SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET CONTEST: Closed " M C Gupta 12 August 2007
