Leaves In the Wind
Soft rhythms of fluttering leaves Swirling around treetops like jazz notes Flew over the daisies, dandelions, chrysanthemums, roses Picturesque, incandescent colors of burnt auburn and gaudy orange Ruddy radiance glides between golden lances of sunlight They swam in a waterless ocean of reverie around me in celebration of autumn Filling my senses with a refreshing taste for nature's deliciousness Taking with me the lush, opulent aroma of its earthy scent Reminding me of days long gone...laughter long forgotten... When things were simpler, when my heart wasn't so tangled in knots But that was then. Today, I have been given the gift of indulging in a rare moment of luxury: Possessing the peace of mind and the time to enjoy purity in all its untainted glory; Nature---offering me its choreography with leaves as its ballerinas They danced with gaiety, swooshed at my feet, colored my hair with their brief copper crown I smiled with lightness in my chest... Haven't felt this good in---oh, I no longer remember, but that doesn't matter anymore. It is here, and now, at this very moment... Where I got the inspiration to live again, to see with open eyes The good around me I sipped this simple scene with delight and hope.
