This little tale if the truth be told
Is about my mother, who’s funny and bold
The dear gal changed into a groupie dame
Haunting Morticia of  “Addams Family” fame

A dinner and show was on the agenda
Mom‘s fond hope was she wouldn’t offend her
Scrambling over to the dressing room
where helpful, loyal guards did loom

The lovely star was quite a treat
To the birthday girl, so wobbly on her feet
Mom knelt to kiss the lady’s hand
Like a royal queen in a distant land

Ms. Jones replied, “Arise my dear”
"We shan’t have that formality here!”
She took her hands and squeezed them tight
Poor starstruck mom could not fight

The urge just came to give a hug
To an ardent fan with so much love
Mom cried and melted at her touch
A star embraced her in a clutch

Her loving face gleemed with surprise
Dreams coming true before her eyes
Her memorable time with a movie star
A birthday treat, the best by far

The years advanced to another place
Mom arrived to visit in all her grace
Hollywood's the place she'd have to be
The car just headed for the Hills of Beverly

You know those tourist traps have supplied
Buses where the fans can get a ride
To see the homes of the famous elite
Mom will never forget that treat

As the years went on, we always took
Dear old mom to some famous nook
The TV home of a favorite show
A Hollywood star; one we all know

To this day, she just rambles on
Of all the places she has gone
Along with her daughter’s family
Displaying memorabilia for all to see
