Friends and family gather 'round
To share Thanksgiving feast, Grateful for ev'ry blessing, The greatest and the least: For hearth and home, for health and wealth, For loved ones far and near, For freedoms won by those who fought And paid the price so dear, For the bounty of the harvest And honest work well done, For safety and security, And for heroes unsung, For football games throughout the day, For sharing with the poor, For the Ragamuffin Parade, And for the pilgrims' lore. With bellies stuffed and waistbands loosed, Each and every guest Is now especially thankful To have this day to rest!
