Thank You
Two simple words can say so much

Where to start?
I’ve told you my fears,
You quickly eased them,
A weight lifted off my shoulders.

I’ve been able to reopen myself,
I no longer have that fear,
And trust you completely,
You know my vulnerability.

The part that means the most to me,
Is that you actually listen to me,
I’ll start telling you something I have already,
And you finish my story.

I realized I never just said “thank you”,
You’re always there when I need you,
And me for you,
But a simple “thank you”, I owed you.

I finally was able to tell you,
You accepted my thank you,
And thanked me yourself,
I told you that it goes both ways.

A day after that I again vented to you,
You recognized my issue the minute I told you,
And realized why I needed to say thank you,
You let me vent, but listened to what I said.

Then you said the words yourself,
You are the only constant I have,
You are the only one who is truthful,
You are the only one who has never lied.

I’m new to this close friendship thing,
Getting used to the feeling,
Having someone who listens, cares
Having someone I can completely trust.
