All That Was
A poem about things left undone.

Empty boxes, faceless pictures,
Are all that's left of the past.
Unshared secrets, unfulfilled wishes,
Promises that never last.
Love that proves untrue,
Relationships I never knew.
All that was is now gone,
Flown away with the dawn.

Crowded rooms of empty people,
Quiet minds of loud thought.
Busy with too much time,
Dreams that are never sought.
Life that rings out death,
All yet nothing left.
All that was is gone away,
Drifted along with the day.
