Five fathoms falling free
Floating beneath the restless sea Darkened blue all around A slowly thrumming shallow sound My heartbeat stopped and so did I In the sea of chaos I did die. Past the grasping of Life Beyond the drum and the fife I found deep serenity When I let the sea capture me No struggling between sky ‘n’ ground Held suspended cold comfort found Fish feed from skin and hair I will not fight, no longer care Claiming indifference, forget strife No weapons brandished, not a knife And so I float the fathoms free Five fathoms beneath the restless sea.
