Fear surrounds me
Lost in my mind I suffocate on the knowledge That everything will not Be alright, not this time. His gaze on my back Makes me want to hide But that is not allowed Instead I take what he offers While I think of other things. There is homework to do Friends to write But if he sees my thoughts I wont survive the night I just need to make it till dawn. Tomorrow I will run And send back the ring Maybe pass it to his mom I know she understands I wish I'd listened. She'd been through this With his dear old dad And feared it would be passed down the line Like those eyes. I just let him Have his way again Pretend I'm there with him But send my mind away To the dawn I hope I'll see.
