Hot Beer Cold Pies

..Hot Beer,Cold Pies..

..Fired up first car about 4am,
pick up two mates ,
road trip planned ,
from inland
to Burrenjuck Dam.

..Neither ready,
both lay in bed,
rattle bucket,
hungover
near dead.

..On the road ,
all a grumble,
freezing cold,
called stupid mongrel.

..Hot up car the day before,
took door seals off,
lift carpet, see the floor.

..Burrenjuck,
just after dawn,
freezing cold,
frozen lawn.

..Hired boat,
in put beer and rods,
our selves then
in hands of gods.

..Slow go tinny,
huge dam crossed,
find the creek
lines in tossed.

..Hunger pains,two complains
six pies we want for lunch.
Up this creek the shop we seek,
long ride, then walk for us

..Shop Sunday closed,
no ice, cold pies only given
long troll ahead,
wind getting up,
me unforgiven.

..Punching home
against force ten gale,
to the cross,
mates wish me nailed.

..Four hours late ,
near sent search party.
pissed wet thru,
mates all arse smarty

..Driving home car runs crook,
re-fuel,
under bonnet look.

..Waterpump,
diaphram RS over shoulder throw,
fill jerry can or else be towed.

..Home now
dropped them off,
stayed had drink,
me them did scoff.

..Of fish we catch and sunny day,
supposed to get suntan
and fish and play.

..Wake us up and tell us lies,
for hot box of beers and six cold pies.
