Short Nap/ Long Afternoon
An impromptu piece about a nap on the beach- a snapshot from my viewpoint.

This item requires reviews with ratings.
It’s hazy on the beach
Rachel’s asleep, an S beneath the green fleece
Us beneath the cloud cover and kites-
Diving rainbows strung on invisible hope,
Flapping to the gulls, adding song to the sea
The layers of waves like lace to tangle your footing,
Take you below where it’s quiet.
Plastic toys stand guard
Before the blanket and the
Footsteps that followed us here which disappear
Slowly as Haystack Rock will crack as
Tiny pieces back to the water,
As maple fudge crumbs blow away-
And all becomes sand.
