Happy Birthday Garden Girl!

Golden promise is the month of October.......

A time of renewal,
leaves turning from russet to gold and sere. 
                                                 
A time for hoarding, of preparation,
for the earth to lie fallow in winter.
A last fling in vibrant colour before donning the white shroud
                                   
A month of harvest, the vines seeming to bow
toward the nurturing earth,
laden with luscious fruit.
Bursting with goodness,
the epitome of fulfillment.
           
Fields beckoning
with waving  fronds of grain,
ears of corn bursting
with the yellowness of nature’s bounty
                                 
A florid sunrise at autumn equinox,
assurance of good times to come.
The fat gilded moon at night
glides gently across benign repose

It is a golden month,
a month of joy and celebration.
Of tradition and festivity,
welcoming, embracing,             
fulfilling family ties.
