Best Writing Style

This prize goes to the novel with the best writing style and the best technical accuracy of writing. One chapter from each novel will be considered for this prize. The chapter is chosen by the entrant and will be judged solely on the quality of writing within that chapter. For the best chapter, a 25,000 gp Awardicon will be awarded (entrant's choice of colour). The section judge is spidey is studying .

Highest Word Count

Anyone who reaches the goal of 50,000 words during November will recieve 1,000 gps for their achievement.

There will also be a Merit Badge (Congratulations, Success or Job Well Done) awarded to the person who has the highest word count at the end of the contest.

Word counts must be verified on the NaNoWriMo site to be entered into the contest.

Best Opening Paragraph

For the best opening paragraph of the novel, a Merit Badge (Attention to Detail, Creativity, Imagery or Style) will be awarded. This is the paragraph which catches attention, which draws the reader in and leaves the judge wanting to read on further. Spelling, grammar and other technical details will not be judged although good writing practice makes judging easier!

Entrants cannot choose their paragraph for this section; the first chapter of the novel will be the one judged. The section judge is poisonivy

*Bullet*Week Two: 24,000 words by the 14th

Funniest One-Liner

You don't need to be writing a comedy to enter this one! Pick your funniest sentence from your novel and enter it into the contest. It can be a line of dialogue, an amusing description or anything else pretty much, providing it's just one sentence and doesn't require any explanation to be funny.

This section will be judged by group poll. You can enter your line between December 2nd and December 19th, and voting will open on December 20th, so remember to check back and vote for the one that makes you fall off your chair with laughter or gasp at the wittiness.

The person with the most votes will receive a Honey Bunny from "Invalid Item.

Anyone wishing to add a prize to this list or judge one of the sections is very welcome to do so! Just send Barmymoo an email and let us know what you have to offer.
