Wings (Falling From the Clouds)
Paper birds with paper wings fly far far away so history forgets to write their downfall.

You opened an anciant oak door
Steps making creaks upon the floor.
Stepping through you became
My newest addiction,
The sweetest of afflictions.

(oh)

Oh the stars were falling from the sky,
And man was learning how to fly.

And like paper birds with paper wings of words
Soaring far far away.
I fell to your siren call
But History will forget my downfall.
All because of you...

The yellow trees were swaying then,
Your smile was still shy back then,
Kissing me you became,
The epitome of love,
A solemn angel from above.

(oh)

Oh this story wasn't meant for us,
Something perfect can never last.

And like paper birds with paper wings of words
Soaring far far away.
I fell to your siren call
But History will forget my downfall.
All because of you.

So although you had to go away,
I will remember that one day,
Holding me you became,
A whole new dream to me,
A whole new world to see.

(oh)

Oh we knew our hearts joined that once,
Knew it was our only chance.

And like paper birds with paper wings of words,
Soaring far far away.
I fell to your siren call
But History will forget my downfall.
All because of you.

You were my first and last that night
Our bodies together in a silver light
And as it came from the moon
The night was over far too soon.
The pages turned and you were sent
Into a war by the devil's men,
And though I waited all that time
I knew you were never mine
Never coming home again.
At least not the same.

And like paper birds with paper wings of words,
Soaring far far away.
I fell to your siren call
And then you marched off to war
And no one knows of our Fall...
All because of you.

Oh how I miss you....
