The Ogre and the Sprite She gaps the cavity That holds my unbeating heart, Subtly tapping her left index and thumb And suddenly— Jumpstart! She drifts away across the coastal cliffside, A spirit at twilight, And I follow, Tethered by a bond both ethereal And taut. --August 25 Silken tresses I am lost in the tree-bark locks dipping to your spider waist Falling headfirst into brown eyes I am lost in the capacity of your love. * I would die with your name on my lips. Is this the texture-the glow-the expansionary nature of Love? -August 26 I wake: my Heart is Singing That heart has never sung Only hummed Yet now for You it Sings My spirit Glows Surrounded in gold mist Like pixie dust you’ve Sprinkled over me. My spirit floats Before me floats an Ornament Silver and gold. I am the silver base My Love, you are the gold Encircling my globe. --Sept. 2
