orange cranes grow like poorly comestible mushrooms out of the northwest window framing my indoor haven no luck today, heron’s have not nested on nearby red-tiled rooftops — storks possibly brought the two-month-old baby to my young enamored neighbors living on the other side of the paper-thin walls… I hope it will remain an only child spoiled rotten by doting parents, for my easygoing laid back ways would be seriously compromised with a second screaming monster gurgling, cooing and whining in a year’s time — but then, peace! they would need to move into the new steel and glass tower being built as a permanent fixture ruining my zen meditative visions of the vivid incandescent beauty of the daily sunsets though, after a bit of thought, it may be magnified ten times by the vast twenty-three story high-rise windows of reflecting glass which will appear one day soon, I may quickly free them from my scorn, those urban architects smitten by colorful building cranes orange cranes [2007.29.8…c]
