At Horizons End

About a teen who likes to write and soon realizes how important friendship actually is.
As I watch
The sun greet
Another “joyful” day

I wonder,
Is there a better life
Waiting for me,
Beyond the crisp light
Of the horizons endless gaze

A life with no anger
No violence,
No war,
No tears

For these things
Have affected me
In ways
You may find hard to believe

After all
I’m just
The “moody teenager”
no significance to anyone

Constantly being compared
To the ones around me
Always told
I will amount to nothing

I travel
That five minute drive
To the one place
I let my talent shine

I gaze into the distance
Still wondering
Is there a better life
Beyond the horizon

Then one by one I see them, talk to them
Something reassures me
Stick with them
And everything will be alright
