LOOK AT ME
A glimpse at one of my grandsons.

Avg Rating: (4)
Me frozen in a millisecond,
eyes watching,
brain searching for words like water trapped by a clogged drain
as he scales the burly oak,
grabbing the knotted off rope ---
that I couldn’t even climb in gym class forty years ago ---
now swinging,
those skinny, five-year-old muscles dancing
like The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall,
blue eyes flashing
and face grinning “look at me!”
