                                        Ghazal 4


Persian:  Beem ast keh sodayat divana kunad ma ra
              Dar Shehr ba badnami afsana kunad ma ra
Urdu:      Dar hay na kaheen ulfat divana karay hum ko
              Badnami say shehroen maen afsana karay hum ko

English:=== I fear my love for you, my love, will make me totally mad
                  And infamous so I'll become that it will make you sad
                                                  -


Persian:  Behr e to ze aql o deen bagana shuda aray
              Tarsam keh ghamat az jan begana kunad ma ra
Urdu:      Begana e aql o deen hum ho gaey, per dar hay
              Gham tera na ab jan say bagana karay hum ko

English:=== The passion I have will make me lose my reason and my creed
                  And the pangs will also make me reject my life and soul indeed

Persian:  Zaan silsila e gaesoo manshoor e nijatam deh
              Zaan pesh keh zanjeerat divana kunad ma ra
Urdu:      Aey silsila e gaesoo manshur e rehaie day
              Qabl is kay aseri aur divana karay hum ko

English:=== You got me bound body and soul with chains of braided hair
                  Now only you can make me free and get me off the snare

Persian:  Man may zada e doosham shayad keh khayal e to
              Imrooz ba yak saghar mastana kunad ma ra
Urdu:      Haen may zada e deeshab, ek tera tassawur hi
              Imroz ba yak saghar mastana karay hum ko

English:=== When sleep I can't, I drink and drink to drown my pain and sorrow
                  And drunk I get thinking of you when sober I'm next morrow

Persian:  Chun sham e butan gashti pesh aaee keh ta Khusro
              Bar aatish e roo e to parvana kunad ma ra
Urdu:      Hay sham e butan tera mashooq jo, aey Khusro
              Sirf us ka tassawur hi pervana karay hum ko   

English:=== Like moon eclipsing a million stars, you eclipse the beauties all
                  And KHUSRO, like the moth, cannot resist your candle's call
