Yorgi and Sergi were ready
Buck and Kirk had no chance to win This match was years in the making The losers would sure feel the sting Following Lunar traditions The States and New Russia would play A Round of low gravity golf The winners were kings for a day Buck had lost form on the back 9 And Kirk had developed the 'yips' Sergi had set them up nicely Then sliced when his moonboot slipped Buck knew that one shot could save them He aimed for the old Lunar2 They all held their breath as he hit And off from the tee the ball flew Yorgi and Sergi applauded As, former proud landmark and probe, Ricocheted the missile back home And sunk deep inside the right hole "Fellas, this looks like a vict'ry Although, I'm not right sure who for! Seems like both sides are the winners By rule it's considered a draw" That wasn't the end of the games At the Club House Yorgi laughed long "Buck get them in, set them up pal - That's the fee for a 'hole in one'" (28 lines) On this day in 1959, the Soviet probe Luna 2 became the first human-made object to reach the surface of the Moon. Write a story or poem set in the future about finding its remains
