A Hot Summer Night
My mom tucks me under my sheet and turns the box fan on in the window at the end of my bed. I have watched the moon landing and am to excitited to sleep. .. "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh sleeeep." Mom's concerned I'll make myself sick if I don't sleep. .. I've always been nocturnal..... "It's a new world! Maybe, we'll go there." I am not sleepy. "So many things to do. .. The worlds a big place." She puts her hand on my face and forehead. "How many seas are there?" her eyes look into mine as she ask. "Hmmmmm, seven." I answer. "Yes." she smiles a Monalisa smile: "The North Atlantic and South Atlantic count as two, as do the North Pacific and South Pacific. Then there are the Arctic, the Antarctic, and Indian Oceans. These together form the Seven Seas." She kisses my lips, "Before you go to the moon, sail these seas. .. They are here for you." :)
