A poem I wrote about the constant feelings I have about my life.

The sun dawns upon a new day.
It reaches out to warm my soul.
Yet finds a place it could never stay.
A hollow shell whose hearts been stole.

An emptiness from which there is no end.
Where dreams become lost and quickly fade away.
Never to be seen again.
Darkness is embraced while light runs astray.

Steel curtains guard every emotion.
Gates that may never be breached.
A head filled with endless commotion.
A blackened heart never within reach.

Moments drift into nothing.
And memories soon disappear .
Thoughts never become something.
Every temptation only feeds the fear.

The sun sets on a now old day.
With one less person touched.
Every ounce of energy it tried to give away.
All wasted….in a world where it didn’t mean so much.
