soft squishing footsteps
I walk through wet autumn grass
and slip in the mud

I stare at the sky
thunder rumbles too loudly
menacing my peace

I shelter myself
from electrical skylights
I am no Tin Man

silvery leaves fall
turbulent wind surrounds me
I seem like a tree

I would rush homeward
escaping rough elements
but the rain won’t stop
