                                              Ghazal 17


Persian:  Shafaat aamdam, aey doust, dida e khud ra
              Kazo maposh gul e nodameeda e khud ra
Urdu:      Rakha hay chashm ba reh maen nay dida e khud ko
              Chhupa na is say gul e nodameeda e khud ko

English:=== Keep him not waiting, my girl, anymore
                  His soul is aching; his heart is sore
                                                        -


Persian:  Raseed khail e ghamat warna eatad janam
              Kuja baram badan e gham raseeda e khud ra
Urdu:      Kya hay qatl teray khail e gham nay laikin yah
              Bataoun kaisay tan e gham raseeda e khud ko

English:=== Half dead already and quite insane
                  Dying he is of sorrow and pain
                                                      -


Persian:  Ba gosh reh nadahi nala e mara, cheh kunam
              Chun nashuneeda kunad kas shuneeda e khud ra
Urdu:        Asar fughan maen ho kis tarheh mairi jab aey jan
                Too nashuneeda rakhay hay shuneeda e khud ko

English:=== With agony and pain he is crying, my dear
                  Be kind to him and give him your ear

Persian:  Gasist rishta e sabram, chehgoona bardozam
              Shigaf e daman e deh ja dareeda e khud ra
Urdu:        Jo rishta sabr ka toota mera, seyoun kaisay
                Shigaf e daman e deh ja dareeda e khud ko

English:=== With sorrow and pain going on and on
                  Worn out he is, and his patience gone

Persian:  Ba chah e shouq faro manda am, Khudawanda
              Faro gazasht makun aafreeda e khud ra 
Urdu:      Houn chah e shouq maen aawakhta Khudawanda
              Na chhor qaid maen is aafreeda e khud ko

English:=== His longing and yearning has set him on fire
                  And captive he is of his burning desire

Persian:  Dar aaei baz ba tan, aey dil e puraatish e man
              Ba soz in tan e mehnat kasheeda e khud ra
Urdu:      Phir aa kay apnay watan maen dil e pur aatish kuchh
              Jala too aur tan e mehnat kasheeda e khud ko

English:=== Burning he is and his condition is dire
                  Consumed has passion his being entire
                                                              -


Persian:  Zay baad e zulf e to shoreeda bud azan KHUSRO
              Ba baad dad dil e aarameeda e khud ra
Urdu:      Ba baad e zulf huwa youn kharab, KHUSRO nay
              Diya ba baad dil e aarameeda e khud ko
